Hello! I’m Laura Hoppenjans - an interdisciplinary artist and designer, and I make and design all of the pieces featured on this site. With a formal education in fine art, focusing on ceramics, printmaking & photography, followed by a MPA studying Global Policy and Gender, I like to examine the balance of form versus function and its relationship to craft and traditional ‘women's work’. Using traditional processes, I investigate the histories of gender and craft through the creation and manipulation of pattern and form.

I have lived and worked in 6 countries, including the United States, Australia, Morocco, South Korea, Ethiopia, and México. These experiences have impacted the way I approach my work and my perspective on art (and life). I currently live and work on unceded Duwamish land in Seattle, WA,
